HOTEL

Hotel minibars are notoriously inefficient and very troublesome from a sustainability perspective. Beverages are routinely stolen by staff. Billing for them relies on the honor system with guests. The small bottles are terrible for the environment. Full size bottles require the guest to purchase the entire bottle, even if they only want on drink.  As a result, most guests choose not to drink at all. These are such major pain points that many hotels give up on minibars altogether, bypassing a significant potential profit center and guest offering if done right.

Multiple Hermets can be placed in each guest room with optional co-branded shells. The Hermet smart bottle cannot be opened until it is empty and is nearly impoosible to tamper with unless broken. Softshell app easily integrates with hotel’s billing system so guest will only pay for exactly what they pour and can notify hotel to restock the beverage precisely when it is empty. Without the guest even needing to request it.

Filling the Hermet is a breeze. Bulk Razortank (9-200L) has an RFID tag as does each Hermet. Staff simply scans both from Softshell’s filling page, plugs the Hermet into the Razortank’s tamper-proof cap coupler and sucks the beverage into the Hermet. Alternatively, sliding a Hermet Barnacle onto the bottle before filling will record the filling data automatically. No filling machines or gas purgers required.

The Hermet smart bottle can be washed in a standard commercial dishwasher that every hotel has. Empty Razortanks are saved until they fill one of the self-addressed cardboard boxes that they arrive in, and are simply mailed back or picked up by supplier on next delivery. Beverage shipping costs are reduced by at least 50%. Free floor space for inventory is doubled and supply chain emissions are reduced by over 90% vs. legacy chain.
