Hermet allows for the creation of completely new business segments. Allowing for a new revenue stream for the holiday rental market, through companies such as Airbnb and Vrbo, is one such example. The unique features of the Hermet smart bottle and the Softshell app open up a brand new revenue opportunity for this massive market.
The Hermet basically allows you to dispense a beverage without actually removing a cap and actually “opening” the bottle. Removing the cap can only be done when the bottle is empty. Dispensing is allowed by activating the actuator, which pushes the fluid out when the valve is twisted open, while remaining hermetically sealed. This actuator can be locked and unlocked remotely through the Softshell app, in a programable manner if so desired.
New guests arriving at a holiday home would simply scan a QR code printed on a paper near the Hermets, input their payment information, and all the Hermets would unlock their dispensing actuators. Guests would only be charged for what they pour, and hosts will be alerted when any bottle is nearly empty. All pouring data is saved to a blockchain, so there can never be any dispute over pours.
Offering guests this type of “hotel” service while in the comfort and space of a private home has been an unmet need for years, until now.
